Grant access to Azure
Ren leverages information from Outlook to generate timely intelligence on relevant contacts and companies. To enable users to connect their Outlook accounts to Ren, an administrator must grant consent on behalf of the organization for the permissions that Ren requires. For any questions, contact support.
Required permissions
Ren will request the following permissions from your Outlook account:
- Read your profile: Ren Systems will be able to read your account profile information (your name, email address, etc.).
- Read your contacts: Ren Systems will be able to read contacts in your contact folders.
- Read users relevant people list: Ren Systems will be able to read a ranked list of relevant people of the signed-in user. The list includes local contacts, contacts from social networking, and people from recent communications (such as email, but not email content itself).
- Read your calendars: Ren Systems will be able to read events in your calendars.
- Maintain access to data you have given Ren Systems access to: Allows Ren Systems to see and update the data you gave it access to, even when you are not currently using the app. This does not give Ren Systems any additional permissions.
Grant permissions
You must be an Azure administrator to consent to the requested permissions. If you are not an Azure administrator, please refer these instructions to your IT team.
- To trigger Ren to request Outlook permissions, open this link: https://login.microsoftonline.com/common/adminconsent?client_id=cb726fc6-a082-4917-8a5e-753623c81c0a&redirect_uri=https://app.rensystems.com/consent-status
- Sign in with your company Outlook email address and password.
- On the permissions screen, click Grant consent on behalf of my organization, then click Accept.
- That’s it! Ren can now ask users in your organization to connect their Outlook account to their Ren account.
If you are seeing a Bad Token Error, don't worry. The connection was (most likely) successfully established anyway. You can check your Azure Portal for the Ren Systems Enterprise Application as described in the next step.
You are seeing Bad Token Error as you are most likely do not have an active and authenticated session with a Ren account. Check your Azure Portal in the next step. If you cannot identify the Ren Systems Enterprise Application with the correct permissions, please contact us at support@rensystems.com. - As an admin, you will now find Ren Systems in your Azure tenant Portal under Enterprise Applications. If required, you can define specific user access and conditional access policies for the app from here.
