Connect Ren into Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI assistants

The Claude and ChatGPT connectors are currently in beta. If you don't currently have access but are interested, contact your account manager.

Ren can be connected into AI assistants to access a user's Ren data: their network of contacts and companies, the news Ren curates about them, and their meetings. Each user connects with their own Ren login and only sees their own data.

Use cases

Ask your AI assistant anything about your network, meetings, and the news that matters to you. Here are a few prompts to get started:

  • "Draft an outreach email to Jane Smith based on what's happening at his firm right now."
Combine Ren with other connectors in the same conversation to go from signal to action without switching tools.
  • "Brief me on my meetings tomorrow."
Pulls your upcoming meetings and fetches recent news on the attendees and their companies.
  • "Give me background on Jane Smith before my call with her this afternoon."
Get deeper context on anyone in your network before a call or outreach, including news about their company.
  • "Summarize my Ren feed and flag anything related to real estate capital markets."
Catch up on your Ren feed, filtered by topic or turned into a digest.
  • "Find me contacts at JLL who are in capital markets."
Look up contacts by name, company, or role and companies by name directly from the chat.
  • "What's the latest news on Blackstone?"
Research people and companies outside your network by name, even if they're not yet in your Ren rolodex.

Note: All tools are read-only. A connected assistant can look things up but can never modify anything in the Ren account.

Admin Setup

In most cases, an admin must initially set up the Ren connector in the organization settings with Claude or ChatGPT and then make the connector available for users.

For Claude:

  1. An Owner opens Organization settings → Connectors, clicks Add, hovers Custom and picks Web, pastes https://app.rensystems.com/mcp, then clicks Add. Only Owners can add org connectors.

  2. For more details, see Claude's official guide.

For ChatGPT:

  1. An admin/owner enables developer mode for the workspace at Workspace settings → Permissions & roles → Connected data (optionally limiting it to specific roles via RBAC).

  2. An admin/developer creates the Ren connector using the MCP URL https://app.rensystems.com/mcp, then publishes it at Workspace settings → Apps → Drafts → Publish. Member access is managed at Workspace settings → Apps → Ren → User access.
  3. Once published, Ren appears in members' Settings → Apps & Connectors with a custom label; each member opens it and logs in with their Ren credentials.

User Connection

For both Claude and ChatGPT, each user will need to go into the Connector settings and "Connect". This will initiate an OAuth process with Ren to connect Ren to the AI tool.

For details on how to do this within your org, please contact the administrator of your AI tools.
